I am directed by Ir, Secretary Shortt to refer
3/1980 to your letter of the 2nd ultime and to return herewith
the copy of the certificate of naturalization granted
by the Governor of Hong Kong to Krs. Ada Charlotte
for registration Sachse, which was enclosed therewith. He observes that
the Oath of Allegiance was taken and subscribed on the
day before the date of the certificate. Under regulation
12 of the Naturalisation Regulations 1914 the oath must
be taken within one month after the date of the certificate
unless an extension of this period is granted, and he
would suggest for the consideration of Secretary Viscount
Milner that the oath should be taken and subscribed again
by Krs. Sachee and a suitable extension of the period
of one month endorsed on both the original and the copy
of the Certificate of Katuralisation.
